Can you recall someone saying, “Just be positive and everything will be fine”?

Did you instantly feel positive? Probably not.

Of course, their intention was good, but it probably left you feeling annoyed and irritated!

There is a big misunderstanding around the concept of positive thinking and that’s too bad, because positive thinking can have a huge impact on your ability to manage stress.

A great article from the Chopra Center came into my mailbox, and I thought it was worth sharing with all of you. Learn the difference between positive thinking and denial and steps you can take to lower your stress. Here’s a taste; click the link below to read it in full!

What Is Positive Thinking?

  • Positive thinking is not about being happy all the time.

  • Positive thinking is not about avoiding negative emotions.

  • Positive thinking is not ensuring nothing bad ever happens.

  • Positive thinking is not pretending your life is perfect.

  • Positive thinking is acknowledging when things go wrong.

  • Positive thinking is adopting a growth mindset.

  • Positive thinking is confidence in your ability to remain calm amid chaos.

  • Positive thinking changes your ability to survive to an option to thrive.
